The first Emirati astronaut, Hazza Al Mansoori, made history yesterday after the launch of the Soyuz MS-15 into the International Space Station (ISS). The entirety of the UAE tuned in to watch the moment, including Dubai’s ruler His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who was all praise after witnessing the launch.
The trip to the ISS was a six-hour one, and the moment AlMansoori and the rest of his co-astronauts entered, they were immediately greeted warmly.
