4 Things You Need To Know About The Man-Made Island With The World’s Biggest Observation Wheel

Avatar

If you live in the Marina or have been in the area recently you’ll have noticed the huge partly-built ferris wheel, just off the coast of JBR.

Officially named Ain Dubai, it is in fact the world’s largest observation wheel (once it’s built anyway) and it’s located on Bluewaters Island, a massive new man-made island primed as eventually becoming one of Dubai’s premier tourist destinations.

Here’s what we know so far

1. Bluewaters is a man-made island with an estimated cost of AED 6 billion

2. Ain Dubai, soon to be the world’s largest observation wheel looks like it’s almost complete

While most are dubbing it ‘Dubai Eye’, the official name is ‘Ain Dubai’

4. Bluewaters is connected to the mainland via a purpose built bridge from SZR

There will also be a mono-rail system on the island and a 265-metre pedestrian bridge linking the island to JBR beachfront.

Residents have been documenting the rate of progress

While the island is currently under construction, the estimated completion date as of now is the first quarter of next year
