There Will Be Boat Services On The Canal Just After It Opens

Avatar

The ambitious Dubai Canal project isn’t just another attraction in the city.

The extension of Deira Creek, linking Business Bay to the Arabian Gulf will have parks, hotels, restaurants and luxury housing but that’s yet to be built. But to ensure there’s easy movement to and fro, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, has ordered for marine transportation services to be provided. These will operate on the day following the official opening of Dubai Canal and will link with the marine transport services in Dubai Creek and the coastal areas of the city.

There will be services in nine new stations:

Five along the Canal:

Sheikh Zayed Road, Safa Park, Al Wasl, Jumeirah and Dubai Canal station

Four along Business Bay:

Dubai Design District, Al Wajeha Al Maeyah, Marasi and Business Bay station

The service will be available on demand on board the Water Taxi from 10am to 10pm in all new stations.

Dubai Ferry will offer service in five stations:

The services will start at 10am, noon and 5.30pm.

  • Two will be at the Dubai Water Canal and three at Business Bay.
  • Plus, there will be three newly scheduled two-way daily services for the Dubai Ferry from Al Jaddaf Station calling at Dubai Design District, Al Wajeha Al Maeyah, and Marasi stations (all in Business Bay) and the Sheikh Zayed Road and the Dubai Canal stations.

Note:

The current line of the Dubai Ferry shuttling between Al Ghubaiba Station and Marina Mall Station will be modified to call the Dubai Canal Station. In short: Dubai Canal Station will link between Al Ghubaiba, Marina Mall, Business Bay and Al Jaddaf.
