A Drunken Brit Police Found On JBR Has Been Jailed For One Year
A British man has been jailed for assault and consuming alcohol without a licence in Dubai.
The man was on vacation here when the incident happened. The 26-year-old assaulted two Dubai Police officers and was under the influence of alcohol at the time, according to reports.
He can’t remember the incident
Appearing before the Court of First Instance, the man told the courts he could not remember the altercation.
Police told courts they received an alert of a drunken man outside a hotel on JBR at 3am on May 3, this year. According to reports, the man was behaving ‘erratically’, police stated they could smell alcohol on the man.

The man admitted to being under the influence of alcohol.
He was been sentence to one year prison, followed by deportation. This verdict may be appealed.
