This story is so heartbreaking and thoughtful all at the same time. A couple were aboard an Etihad flight at Manchester Airport that was about to take off for Abu Dhabi, when they received a message to say their grandson had just been admitted into intensive care, and to come to the hospital right away.

They alerted cabin crew who passed the message to the pilot. He turned the flight around and drove the plane back to the gate, so the passengers could get off and make it to the hospital. 

Although their grandson passed away the next day, they were able to make it to the hospital in time to say goodbye.
