Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri stated his resignation, live on Tuesday, reports say. The resignation came hours after a major attack on protesters took place.
During his announcement, Hariri said “For 13 days the Lebanese people wanted a solution… I have reached a dead end and I’m going to Baada Palace to submit the resignation of the he government to President Michel Aoun and to the whole of the Lebanese people.” Hariri followed this statement by asking the Lebanese people to focus on civil peace and to prevent the country’s economy to worsen as top priority.
After his speech, Hariri went to the presidential palace to meet with Aoun, as stated.
