Man Caught While Trying To Use Friend’s Medical Test Results To Get UAE Residency

Prior to getting a UAE residence visa, expats must go through medical tests to check for diseases such as tuberculosis, hepatitis B, HIV / Aids, syphilis and leprosy.

A Chinese man suffering from Hepatitis tried to use his friend’s medical test results to get the visa but was caught in the process.

An Iranian employee at the medical fitness centre in Al Qusais told The National that his colleague found a slight difference between the applicant and his picture on the documents. To double check they examined him again and found he suffers from hepatitis. His friend, who was waiting outside, was examined as well but he was medically fit.

The 31-year-old men tried to manipulate the results using their ‘similar faces’ to their advantage. The Chinese man was changed with using an official document belonging to another. His friend was charged with aiding and abetting.

They’ve denied both the charges, but the verdict is expected on 15 December.
