MAC cosmetics has cut ties with beauty influencer Sondos AlQattan, in the wake of her controversial comments, where she disagreed with new law reforms introduced to protect domestic workers in Kuwait.
Following top brands like Max Factor, Shiseido, Chelsea Beautique and more, MAC released a statement distancing itself with AlQattan, who’s previously been named by Forbes as one of the top Arab beauty influencers to follow.
MAC stated “we currently do not have any partnerships with her and will no longer be working with her on any brand activities,”. The brand distanced itself from the star labelling her “views are her own” and said “we wish to make it clear we do not support the beliefs recently expressed by her”. MAC will continue “to align ourselves with partners that share our core values and in no way tolerate excluding anyone.”
