Unprecedented rain and floods have lashed the Indian state of Kerala this week.
Displacing 60,000 people from their homes and a death-count reaching 39, local civil defence are currently engaged in relief and rescue operations.
And a UAE businessman and billionaire has donated AED2.6million to aid the efforts according to the Khaleej TImes.
The chairman and managing director of Lulu Group, Yusuff Ali M.A. reportedly made the donation towards the Kerala Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
And he’s previously donated over AED20 million to two prominent Kerala newspapers.
