The Public Investment Fund intends to buy the Newcastle Football Club.

According to Financial Times, the Public Investment Fund is in talks to buy the English soccer club Newcastle United for approximately 340 million pounds ($ 444.5 million).

The newspaper pointed out that the Public Investment Fund is leading an alliance with a group of British investors to buy the English club, and that talks are in early stages.

Club owner Michael Ashley bought the club in 2007 for 134 million pounds ($ 175.2 million). Ashley put the club on sale in 2017 with a value of over $ 500 million.
