Saudi Arabia is suspending recreational events in the Kingdom for the next 10 days in efforts to prevent the further increase of new coronavirus cases.
The rules also include the gyms and sports center to shut down and the banning of indoor dining at restaurants, though takeaways continue to be permitted. Any restaurants in violation could be forced to close for up to a month.
All activities and events, including weddings and corporate meetings, held in private or hotel ballrooms, restaurants, etc are also suspended for a period of 30 day.
300+ new cases were registered on Feberuary 4 – nearly four times the amount from a month ago.

In addition, all citizens and residents must have the Tawakkalna app on their phones to be permitted entry to public places such as malls, shops, etc.
The Tawakkalna app was launched by Saudi authorities last year to help track coronavirus infections. It has since developed and recently updated to include vaccination information, including an individual’s status such as vaccinated or infected, and now functions as a COVID-19 “passport.”
