The Ministry of Public Health in Qatar announced that travellers no longer need to quarantine upon arrival

Officials are implementing the new COVID-19 regulations for travellers on September 4 at 6 pm Qatar time.

The new general policies are as follows:

  1. The Ministry of Public Health removed the COVID-19 Country Red Risk Classification and they have deemed it as inapplicable.
  2. No more quarantine for travellers! The Ministry of Public Health announced that quarantine is no longer mandatory for travellers arriving from abroad. However, those who test positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Qatar have to quarantine.
  3. Citizens and residents of Qatar have to take a Rapid Antigen (RAT) test within 24 hours upon their arrival in the State of Qatar at a Primary Health Care Centre or private medical centre. It is important to note that the health status in the Ehteraz app will turn gray if these tests are not taken.
  4. Visitors must have a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test result valid for 48 hours. Alternatively, they can present a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) certificate valid for 24 hours from the scheduled flight. However, it is important to note that self-tests are NOT valid for travel purposes.
  5. GCC nationals and residents have to download the Ehteraz mobile app. They also need to activate the application on their phones using a local or international SIM card. Additionally, they are excluded from the pre-entry online registration.
  6. Travellers who do not reside in the GCC and are not citizens of the GCC should also download and activate the Ehteraz application. Plus, they should register in the pre-entry online registration system here. They should register within at least 3 days before arrival.
