Abu Dhabi Police rescued a man attempting to jump from a telecommunications tower on Thursday.
Police managed to convince the Asian man in his 20s to abandon a suicide attempt, according to a social post by Abu Dhabi police.
Police were alerted to the incident at 2.30pm on Thursday, when the Abu Dhabi resident had managed to scale the tower and was threatening to jump from it.
Emergency services rushed to the site. According to police, the team quickly prevented the attempt, by reminding the man of the ‘importance of life’.

A 40-year-old Asian man attempted to kill himself by throwing himself in front of a truck. He was spotted by a nearby patrol team who immediately had the body rushed to a local hospital.
Some bones were fractured but the man survived the incident.
