It’s Art Season In Dubai And Here Are 6 Highly-Stimulating Events To Attend

Dubai’s art hub is buzzing this season- no seriously, the Emirate truly does the most when it comes to supporting and showcasing its residents’ talents.

And if you’re into creativity, colours, and the overall surrounding of art- make sure not to miss any of these ahh-may-zing events in the city.

1. Sikka Art Fair, March 16-24

Dubai Culture’s annual flagship event will be held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.

In its 9th edition, many new talents from across the region will be in Dubai to showcase their work and develop creative outcomes for a specific theme, which is: ‘An Open Window To Art And Tolerance’- perfect for The Year of Tolerance.

Expect to see some AWESOME art installations, paintings and other types of curations- all in the name of art.

The event’s going to be eight days long and at the Fahidi Neighborhood with different things going on for night and day.

2. Art Dubai, March 20-23

Art Dubai has made quite a name for itself in the creative world, and this year’s PROBS its biggest three-day event to date.

More than 90 galleries in different will display a variety of artwork ranging from FOUR categories.

3. There’s a gastronomic experience with Andy Warhol by Art Dubai that should be on your go-to list

The art world owes a lot to Andy Warhol for much of the pop-art influences we still today. He was a visionary, after all, whose video eating a cheeseburger has more artistic dynamic than anything we could ever see today.

And the organisers of Art Dubai recognise this since they’ve chosen to centre their annual special dinner around the master Warhol himself.

Warhol’s Superstars- an especially curated dinner experience, will take place from March 17-22 with limited seating every night. Dinner starts at 8:30 pm sharp and expect to be surprised by the creative wonder that you’ll witness.

4. Jameel Arts Centre’s Spring-Summer Programme

If you’re looking to participate in something a little more permanent, Jameel Arts Centre is an innovative contemporary institution in the city- that is good to check out!

The centre works with individuals and organisations that’ll help develop and learn about ancient and new technologies in the art world.

PLUS, there’s to be a conversation on March 13 at the centre with Emirati artists, like Farah Al Qasimi from 6.30pm.

5. Catch this cultural piece on the opening night of Fabric(ated Fractures) at Al Serkal

Head down to everyone’s fave eclectic Al Serkal Avenue where you can meet artists like Reetu Sattar (below) who will be performing with 35 musicians on March 9.

6. World Art Dubai, April 3-6

The Dubai World Trade Centre will be welcoming this delightful art fair to the city next month.
