With freak showers all day today and more expected tomorrow (sad face) most of us are completely at a loss for what to do with ourselves.
Pretty much all our favourite activities are beach based or well involve being outside but when the sand takes on that sludgy type texture, the beach is really of no use to anyone.
So we’ve compiled a list of excellent indoor activities to keep you busy.
This spot looks and is as cool as it sounds. A massive room filled with 50 interconnected trampolines where you can bounce to your little hearts content for fun, or join in a workout class that will leave even the fittest of us breathless.
We say fon-do of course! Try out a unique dining experience at this great spot in Box Park. The Melting Pot has a great four-course option (as well as individual dishes) think melted cheese, melted chocolate, a delish main and a salad to go with it. It’s the perfect spot to get as cheesy as you like, particularly if you’re trying to impress someone special!
And pay for the pleasure. Seriously though, this is actually pretty cool. Hint Hunt lock you and your friends in a room and leave you to solve a series of puzzles before you’re allowed to exit. The time limit is one hour, if you don’t succeed you will be sucked into a deep dark hole and we will consider you lost forever… (disclaimer: this may not be true).
That’s right, why not embrace the cold weather, come here and freeze your ass off! Chillout Dubai in Times Square Centre, will provide you with proper thermal gear before you enter the lounge, and then literally chill out while you order your food and their famous hot chocolate.
Head to the newly opened Voice Dubai at the JW Marriot Marquis hotel to give your vocal chords a bit of a bashing. With over 40,000 songs to choose from you might want to settle in for the night. And with superstars like Rita Ora, LMFAO and Tray Songs tasked to help design the concept…we’re guessing it’s going to be pretty sweet. Book for up to tables of 8 and Karaoke is free.
If you’re still not ready to do a skydive (or your dive was cancelled due to bad weather) head to Ifly in City Centre Mirdif and try their famous skydive simulator. This is actually as cool as it sounds and it suits any age group. Take your Emirates ID to get a locals discount.
This one might be a bit obvious, but when in Rome, hey! The weather is terrible outside so why not pretend you’re off in a cold country having fun. Pop along to Ski Dubai at Mall of the Emirates and book yourself in for a ski or snowboard lesson if you’re new to the sports.
You have probably passed this spot at Dubai Mall a hundred times, but have you ever really noticed it or thought about giving it a go? Grab onto one of the snowmen aids if you’re a beginner but if you’re feeling particularly confident why not try the disco session, where you can show off your moves to the beats of their resident DJ.
When it’s wet outside, why not go somewhere where it’s wet inside, too. The Lost Chambers Aquarium is the perfect place to while away the hours just staring at the sharks, rays and hundreds of colourful fish. At just AED 100 for adults and AED 70 for kids (take your EID for residents discount), you can take a seat on one of the comfy floor seats and just let the underwater world entertain you…all without actually getting wet.
