TONIGHT will be the LAST ever lunar eclipse that the UAE will witness until 2023 guys!

The partial lunar eclipse is expected to start at 10.43pm Tuesday July 16 and last a total of five and a half hours, which means the rustic red of the moon will maintain its colour till the dawn of the next day.

So let’s break down what a partial lunar eclipse is first of all.

In a partial lunar eclipse, the Earth moves in between the sun and the Full Moon – but the three are not exactly aligned. Only a portion of the moon catches the Earth’s shadow giving it the reddish glow.

No, it’s not dangerous to look at the moon during the eclipse

During tonight’s partial eclipse, the moon will not be giving off any of its own light, so there is no danger in looking directly at the moon (unlike in a solar eclipse).

Also, contrary to popular belief the lunar eclipse will have no side effects what so ever on anyone’s mind, body, behaviour, soul – so anyone looking to blame the lunar eclipse for their salty mood… well now you know.
