The Financial Times reported this week that the gendar pay gap had narrowed substantially (for those under the age of 40).

And though it feels like both genders of younger generations really do champion equality, it looks like there might still be mixed agenda when it comes to paying for a date.

“When a girl wants to pay in Dubai” was posted by popular TikTok user Oliver Obeid, it’s shot in a Dubai restaurant and to a soundtrack of the words “impossible”.

Clearly a skit, the caption also reads,  “It’s a joke… if ur offended then haha”
