You Can Actually Order A ‘Croque Ma’am Sir’ At Shakespeare and Co In Dubai

A Croque Monsieur is a traditional French dish, basically a sandwich that’s baked and fried, with boiled ham and cheese, if you haven’t tried it, trust me on this, it’s deeeeeeeee-lish.

A Croque Madame features a fried egg on top and that’s where the variations end… internationally. But, this is the UAE, and we’re all about inclusivity, so shout out to Shakespeare and Co, for featuring a Croque Ma’am Sir on the menu.

This beauty comes with turkey ham, bechamel sauce, Emmental and mozzarella on a brioche bun, french fries and mixed greens, topped with a fried egg

Hello ma’am sirrrrrr

“Ma’am Sir” is an expression commonly used by Pinoys in Dubai and one Reddit user explained the term:

“hahaha…i’m Filipino and this is still funny. Anyway, the Filipino language is gender-neutral our pronouns don’t have specific genders that’s why we use suffixes (-o for male and -a for female) if we want to distinguish genders (ex. Filipino/Filipina). So “ma’am-sir” will always be there because the language is built like that”
