Scams are becoming quite elaborate with professional-looking email newsletters and undetectable false links. While many scams are conducted online behind a screen, some people do it behind car windows!

Dubai Police arrested a gang that would beg people for money from their cars

Members of this gang would beg for money from their cars that had license plates from neighbouring countries. It has not been disclosed how they managed to obtain these license plates.

These beggars would also often be accompanied by women and children to evoke sympathy and compassion

Dubai Police are warning the public not to engage with or donate to these scammers. They usually target people near mosques, clinics, hospitals, shops, and in the streets.

Dubai residents have noticed suspicious drivers asking strangers for “gas money”

This scam is not new! Quite, the contrary. In May of this year, Lovin Dubai shared the story of a suspicious driver who was asking residents for money as he was driving by. The comments show that this scam has been happening across various neighbourhoods in the city but the police are clamping down on these illegal activities.
