Back for another year, and JUST as spell-binding… A house in the Springs continues to ensure jaws are dropping with its annual spook-tastic Halloween decor!
And each year, it gets better with a new setting is born from recycled material they add.
Christine Quartier La Tente and family set about each year to ramp up Halloween spook levels in the Springs, she says it’s their homemade version of The Nightmare Before Christmas. 85% is made from scrap and recycled trash and they reuse pieces each year, meaning each year it gets slightly bigger and even more magnificent.
Christine explains that the tomb with an arch is made of frozen food styrofoam boxes. The spiral hill is made with gathered palettes, disposed of wardrobe wood boards and the brown paper she painted into a faux rock last year for their pirate’s theme. They created the Oogie Boogie (the big fat monster) with old curtains she was given.
The spooky trees are made of old rubber playmates I found near garbage bins and so on…
