Meet Mohammed Mostafa: The First Emirati Actor On Apple TV

Hijack has just released three episodes on Apple TV+, but this 7 episode thriller series is especially important for the UAE as it features the first Emirati actor- Mohammed Mostafa on the platform
It’s 45 minutes of thrills with a generous dash of much-needed representation. The show features some big names like Idris Elba, Mohammed Mostafa, Archie Panjabi, Max Beesley, Ben Miles, Eve Myles, Christine Adams and more.
Mohammed has always been passionate about acting and this role makes him proud to represent Emirati actors on a global platform
He auditioned for this role last year. Although it may be his first TV show, it is his 5th acting project!
The two fronts here that I think I’m very proud of is first being able to show that it’s possible…and on the other side to show what’s needed in the industry here for our talent.
Mohammed also believes that the country needs more agencies to help highlight the phenomenal talent in the region.
It’s something we need here in the region because we have a lot of talent, extreme talent in this region…Most of the agencies here represent models. There isn’t anything that necessarily focuses on actors and getting those actors on an international level.
Acting is just one of Mohammed’s many colourful passions, he has several other plans for his future
The TV star is also an avid yoga practitioner who has just finished teaching over 100 classes. He blends each of these classes with a bit of his poetic talent too!
Mohammed currently works with his family business- a legacy company that will have been leading the market for over 100 years in 2024.
Mostafa bin Abdullatif Investments started out in 1924 and have since diversified into real estate developers, service and manufacturing, and private equity. Their name can be put behind reputed brands like Oral-B, Dubai Ice, and more.
The passion is being part of growth and change, especially doing that for the family.
Like any other Emarati, he is dedicated to ensuring the prosperity of his family and wants to grow his great-grandfather’s legacy by adding to it.
