Turkish restaurateur is known for smiling while cooking in all his videos, setting up the Downtown Dubai branch of CZN Burak and being a celeb-favourite chef travelled to Turkey recently and did his part in helping put out the fires and serving his community.

Turkey, along with Greece, Algeria and Italy have been suffering historic wildfires since the beginning of August. In the wake of the forest fires in southern Turkey, it has caused devastation leading up to people losing homes and valuable possessions, and others their lives.

The restaurateur shared an image on his Instagram – expressing how shattered he and the entire country was while attempting to hose down fires

A fast-spreading wildfire that started in Muhtar Canzir spread immediately to the south of the country for nearly TWO weeks.

During that time, the country already experienced immense heat, low humidity and changing strong winds, reports DW.com

Algeria has also been dealing with a similar wildfire, that has already killed 65 people (as of August 11, 2021) including soldiers

According to CNN, the forest fires in Algeria have killed 65 people as of Tuesday, including 28 soldiers who were deployed to help out with the blaze. A heatwave of 48 degrees Celsius was recorded in the areas of the fire, while civil defence continued battling the fires.

The fire started on August 9 and is considered to be one of the most widespread fires in the North of Algeria to date.

The Mediterranean has been a point of discussion globally due to the wildfires that have taken over forests in Turkey, Greece, and Algeria – worsened, in part, due to heatwave.
