Baseball United, the first-ever professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent, has announced that its inaugural event will take place on November 24th and 25th of this year at Dubai International Stadium.

Two Baseball United All-Star teams will go head-to-head in a two-game series
The teams include Major League Baseball legends like Bartolo Colon, Robinson Cano, and Jair Jurrjens.

Baseball is coming to Dubai, and it’s bringing some big names with it…
Colon, who was selected 16th overall by the Karachi Monarchs in Baseball United’s inaugural Draft, will be the East team’s starting pitcher on Opening Night, November 24th. Colon, the winningest Latin American pitcher in Major League Baseball history with over 247 victories, earning four All-Star selections, and a Cy Young Award in 2005. When he takes the field in Dubai, he will become one of the oldest professional players in history. Colon turned 50 earlier this year.
Cano, who is also a Co-Owner of Baseball United, was selected sixth overall in the Baseball United Draft by the Wolves. Cano, an exceptional second baseman, boasts eight Major League Baseball All-Star selections, two Gold Glove Awards, and five Silver Slugger Awards in a career highlighted by a pivotal role in the New York Yankees’ 2009 World Series triumph.He will captain the Baseball United West All-Stars.
Former MLB All-Star, Jair Jurrjens, will be the starting pitcher for the West All-Stars on Opening Night. Jurrjens, who posted double-digit wins three times for the Atlanta Braves from 2008 to 2011, was selected 10th overall by the Wolves in the Baseball United Draft.

In the lead-up to the Showcase, Baseball United will host a variety of community events, including baseball clinics, meet-and-greets with players, and cultural performances.
