They’re constantly finding ways to improve and upgrade systems across various fields. Hence, the announcement of new traffic fines! It may seem like a face-palm moment but it’s for the greater good.

The UAE’s Ministry of Interior announced new traffic fines to boost safety measures, especially during unstable weather conditions and emergency situations

The updated traffic violations include fines of up to AED2,000, 23 black points and vehicle confiscation

  • Entering flooded valleys while overflowing with rainwater: AED2,000 fine, 23 black points and 60 days vehicle confiscation
  • Obstructing the authorities from regulating traffic or ambulance and rescue operations during emergencies, crises, and disasters, including rains and floods: AED1,000 fine, four black points and 60 days vehicle confiscation
  • Gathering near valleys, floods and dams during rainy weather: AED1,000 fine and 6 black points
