The UAE Condemns The Terrorist Attack On School In Western Uganda

On Friday, militants with an extremist group, Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), launched an attack on the Lhubirira Secondary School in Mpondwe, Uganda. The school’s dormitory was also attacked and set on fire.

The UAE condemns the attack on the Uganda secondary school and expresses its permanent rejection of all forms of violence, terrorism and extremism

The school is situated along Uganda’s border with Congo in the town of Kasese.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts.

The Ministry also expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government of the Republic of Uganda and its people, and to the families of the victims of this heinous crime, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.

At least 41 people were killed, mostly students, and 6 were abducted, Ugandan officials have said

62 people were in the school during the attack. According to The New York Times, the attack was carried out by about five militants. A police spokesperson stated all 8 who were wounded were hospitalized in critical condition.

Uganda Police Force, on Twitter, is constantly releasing updates regarding the attack and the arrest of the suspects.
