Travellers From The UK Will Need To Take A PCR Test 48 Hours Prior To Departure

With Covid-19 cases rising globally, the UAE has updated the travel requirements for those arriving from the UK! In regards to UK travellers arriving in Dubai, they will need to take a PCR test taken a maximum of 48 hours before flying. Previously the negative test could have been taken no more than 72 hours prior to travel.

Emirates Airlines stated:

“Effective 04:00 GST, Sunday 2 January 2022, all passengers travelling from the UK to or through Dubai must present a negative Covid‑19 PCR test certificate for a test taken no more than 48 hours before departure unless exempted.”

Test certificates including antibody tests and home testing kits are not accepted in Dubai!

Emirates Airlines stated that the new regulations for travellers arriving in Dubai has come into effect on Sunday at 4am

Abu Dhabi removed the UK from its Green-list for quarantine-free travel

Vaccinated passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi from the UK will need to take a PCR test on the 4th and 8th day of arrival. Pre-departure tests must also be conducted.

Unvaccinated passengers will need to take a PCR test before flying to Abu Dhabi and will also have to isolate in their accommodation for 10 days upon arrival.

On day 9, they must take a PCR test at a SEHA Prime testing facility.
