UAE Has Asked The United Nations To Remove The Use Of ‘Islamic State’ To Avoid Hijacking A Religion Of Tolerance
In a video that has swept Twitter’s patriotic UAE residents, a diplomat representing the country, Mohamed Abushahab, called on the United Nations and its member states to stop using the words “Islamic State” when referring to the terrorist group ISIS.
In the clip posted by the UAE Mission to the UN official Twitter account, Abushahab explained that Islam has been used by the terrorist group to justify their campaigns of violence, hijacking a religion of tolerance.
“We take this opportunity to focus on the exploitation of Islam by terrorist groups to justify their acts of violence and hate to self-proclaimed Islamic appellations,” he told the UN Security Council meeting.
There is nothing Islamic about terrorism.
Today, #UAExUNSC called on the entire @UN system to put an end to the use of “Islamic State” in its references to Da’esh.
