UAE’s National Day Celebration Rules Have Been Announced

UAE’s National Day, or “Union Day” is like the most epic gathering where locals, residents, and expats all team up to celebrate the country’s official birthday and the fantastic moment the Emirates united in 1971. Seriously, it’s the holiday everyone’s been counting down to!

All seven Emirates come together to celebrate this event…

UAE’s National Day is a lively and meaningful celebration that reflects on the past, embraces the present, and looks forward to the future of the Emirates. Every December 2nd, citizens and residents join hands to honor their national unity, showcasing the UAE’s rich heritage and unity to the global stage. This year marks the 52nd National Day, bringing with it a mix of spectacular fireworks, cultural dance shows, and spirited car rallies, creating a day filled with joy, national pride, and a sense of togetherness.

As the date approaches, the Ministry of Interior has set guidelines for National Day celebrations

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Marches and spontaneous gatherings are prohibited.
  • Use of party spray by motorists, passengers, or pedestrians is not allowed.
  • Altering a car’s number plates or changing its color is prohibited.
  • Windshield tinting or blackout is not permitted.
  • Writing inappropriate phrases or placing stickers on vehicles is against the rules.
  • Exceeding the allowed vehicle occupancy limit is prohibited.
  • Sticking heads out of vehicle windows or opening the sunroof is not allowed.
  • Vehicles should not have noise materials or unlicensed engine modifications restricting visibility.
  • Disrupting traffic or blocking roads is strictly prohibited.
  • Showy reckless driving is not permitted on internal and external roads.
  • Covering side windows, front, or rear windshields with stickers or sunshades is illegal.
  • Raising flags of any country other than the UAE is not allowed.
  • Shop owners must only display posters or flags related to UAE Union Day
  • And finally, do not raise the volume of chants; they should only be related to the UAE

What happens if you don’t abide by these rules?

Alright, go ahead, make those plans! Just make sure you and your crew stay safe, and let’s get ready to celebrate the UAE

Happy birthday to the country everyone loves to call their home away from home!
