UK Visa Made Easier! UAE Officially Confirms The Abolition Of The Pre-Entry UK Visa Requirement
UAE citizens planning to travel to the UK can now opt for the newly introduced Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme starting February 1. This initiative eliminates the need for a pre-entry UK visa, streamlining the travel process for Emiratis by ensuring speed, improved accessibility, and cost-effectiveness.
Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the UK, expressed that the ETA system, developed over four years, signifies the commitment to fortifying the longstanding relationship between the UAE and the UK. ETA applications can be submitted through the ‘UK ETA’ app or gov.uk for travels to the UK from February 22, 2024, onwards.

What is the application process?
• Provide contract and passport details, a valid photo, and answer a set of questions.
• Applications cost 10 GBP.
• Processing time of three working days.
• An ETA permits unlimited visits over two years or until the passport expires, whichever is sooner.
Who is eligible for an ETA?
• Visitors who do not already have a UK immigration status prior to traveling.
• Visitors coming to the UK for up to 6 months for tourism, visiting family, business, or short-term study.
• Visitors coming to the UK for up to 3 months on the creative worker visa concession.
• Visitors transiting through the UK.
Not just the UAE, as moving forward GCC nationals and Jordanian nationals wanting to visit the UK will now be exempt from requiring a pre-entry visa thanks to this scheme!
