Poll Shows That 45.7% Of Dubai Residents Will NOT Cancel Their Festive Plans Amid Rising Covid-19 Cases
Peeps around the world are in turmoil about attending events, hosting parties and travelling anywhere amid the sudden surge of COVID-19 cases.
The new Omicron variant has thrown many plans for a toss and one Dubai resident, Fida Chaaban, took to her Twitter to ask tweeps the ultimate question:
“Have you cancelled your Xmas / holiday plans for outings and gatherings and so on due to Covid and the surge in cases?”
- 31.4% of you said ‘yes’
- 45.7% of you said ‘no’
- 22.9% of you said ‘maybe’
Majority of the votes went to ‘no’, indicating that most Dubai peeps will still go ahead with their festive plans as usual.

“Do you think it is safe to invite guests over if everyone has to present a negative PCR?”
Fida put out another poll asking her followers if they think it’s safe to invite guests over if a negative PCR test is presented.
- 71.4% of you said ‘yes’
- 28.6% of you said ‘no’
Requesting for a negative PCR test has become a norm of late, and as a host, it’s a precautionary measure that just helps ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing for something that they’ve organized.

If you’re travelling it’s worth noting that Emirates airline has suspended all inbound services from Kenya up to and including December 24
The below is a statement from the airline:
As per directive from Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), all air transport services with inbound and transit passenger movements to the emirate of Dubai from any point in the Republic of Kenya are temporarily suspended up to and including December 24. Customers will not be accepted for travel on Emirates flights at Nairobi during this time. Outbound passenger operations from Dubai to Nairobi remain unaffected.
