This is a real life CSI story – Dubai police were able to nab a get-away car from an accident site through a genius method and they only had the car’s mirror to work with.
Claiming the lives of two Asians near the Al Qusais area, the get-away driver had fled the scene of the accident right after.
The car’s mirror was sent to the forensic department and was revealed to be a 2006 model car and the forensic team were able to establish the specific grey colour of the car.
Afterwards the police sent out police patrol cars in the area to check for any car matching that of the description.
They found that the grey 2006 car belonged to a 21-year-old woman and was borrowed by her 20-year-old brother during the time of the accident.
After investigation, the police found out that the 20-year-old boy was under the influence of alcohol, which resulted in the accident and death of the two people.
With no eye-witnesses and just the car’s mirror, his case was sent to the public prosecution.
