Dubai is ranked No.1 of 10 gulf cities in the Smart City Index

In a study conducted by Huawei and researched by Navigant, 10 cities in the Gulf were evaluated based on strategy and execution of smart city campaigns. The research aimed to understand each city’s ‘current level of readiness’ and adaptability in smart-planning so that they can better serve the region.

Dubai stood out for its strategic vision coupled with a clear understanding of the practical requirements to deliver on its vision

“Overall, cities in the region are expanding their digital infrastructures, developing new services, and investing in large-scale building programs. The emerging focus on open data and data analytics programs is an important next step.

The innovative Government smart-programmes really stood out

Initiatives by the Government such as smart mobility solutions for traffic control, smart health services, smart police force, and mobile-enabled e-Government services set Dubai ahead of the other gulf cities.
