Emirates Airline has answered enquiries about drinking on its UAE-bound flights, following confusion during the Ellie Holman case – the woman who was detained at Dubai Airport last month.
The story made international headlines, purportedly for ‘drinking a glass of wine on an Emirates flight’, however it later came out that she was detained for having an expired visa, and for disorderly conduct.
The international tabloids, even The Guardian, reported that it was for a glass of wine, and cast blame on Emirates for offering Holman wine on Emirates flights.
