Emirates Suspends Flights To And From Kabul Amid Taliban Seizing Afghanistan’s Capital
As of Sunday, August 15, all flights to and from Afghanistan’s capital Kabul have been suspended by Emirates until further notice. This news comes after the Taliban besieged Afghanistan’s capital on Sunday.
The update on the Emirates website clarified that,
Customers are advised that due to the developing situation in Afghanistan, Emirates flights to/from Kabul have been cancelled…
Customers holding tickets with final destination to Kabul will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin.
Customers can check the latest information on their flights by visiting the flight status page.
Other major airlines have also either suspended or rerouted flights to avoid Afghanistan airspace altogether, as it’s now being deemed as a ‘conflict zone’
