Avatar

When Nike released the first installment of ‘Dream Crazy’ in February, the world paid attention.

Pushing females to break past expected norms, the powerful ad is narrated by tennis superstar Serena Williams, and the message to all women is this: Just ‘dream crazier’.

Racking up 10 million views on YouTube alone, this is clearly a message we want to hear and so Nike has just released another installment starring none other by Dubai-based Egyptian athlete Manal Rostom.

Can we get a shout out for regional and hijabi representation?!

Manal is a marathoner, mountaineer and founder of the ‘Surviving Hijabi’ Facebook page

No small community, the Facebook page now tops over 600,000 users and is a constant inspiration to hijabis everywhere. Manal visited Facebook HQ and spoke to a 5,000 strong audience about her journey.

As part of her Nike ‘dream crazy’ feature, Manal wants to the world to know that choosing to wear the hijab will not hold you back and in the ultimate visual, Manal led a group of 14 women from the community to ‘Surviving Hijab’ page to Everest Base Camp.
