Shisha will not be permitted in Ramadan tents during iftar this year in Dubai.

The ban is during the iftar time period, so from dusk until 9pm and it aims to protect children, pregnant women and non-smokers from the harmful effects of smoking.

Tents must be approved on a case by case basis by Dubai Municipality’s Public Health and Safety Department, each tent must comply with ventilation regulations and air conditioning. Hotel tents must provide separate entrances and additional seating must not be added after the authorities have approved the plans, according to reports.

Tents will be monitored closely by authorities to ensure safety requirements are met.
