This Story Of An Abused Stray Dog In Dubai Will Make You Question Humanity

Mankind is gifted with intelligence that in a sense makes us superior to other living beings, but what’s the use of that superiority if we use it to abuse and cause mayhem? Instead of becoming a voice for the helpless, we’ve evolved to become their biggest tyrants.

An incident was recently brought to light of a stray dog in Dubai who was heartlessly beaten up and left for dead

‘Bubbles.petsrescue’, a group of Emiratis who formed an NGO to help animals in need shared the story of Mercy on their official Instagram account and his story will break your heart.

“They shared Mercy’s story earlier this week with a caption reading,

Is it not enough that strays already have a hard life on the roads?
Meet Mercy…

He trusted us and our kind betrayed him.
Mercy is in critical condition, We are speechless.
A ride was offered to Dubai and we transported him as an emergency case to a clinic in Jumeirah.
He is fighting for his life like a warrior.
This is one of the worse cases we have seen in a while.
He is also full of ticks and fleas, his whole face is damaged.”

“Blood all over his poor body, he is under IV fluids, strong antibiotics and pain killers…”

“He can not eat because of his condition…

Dealing with cases like this hurts in a way we can not explain
Writing this with tears, angry, upset and disappointment in our kind.

We are not a shelter nor a big group.
We founded this organization in 2013, and all these years nothing changes, it is getting worse. Humans are becoming way too cruel.”

Bruised and battered with peeling skin, fleas, ticks and damaged organs, the group is still rooting for the helpless angel and refuse to euthanize him

Bubbles.petsrescue referred to Mercy as a fighter and shared an update on Mercy’s condition by saying that, “Today he is a bit brighter and we are taking baby steps!”

However:

“He, unfortunately, can not eat because of the pain.
Mercy remains under IV fluids, Strong pain killers and antibiotics.
Tomorrow we will try to give him a bath at the vets to start getting rid of the ticks & fleas as well as the spray paint on his body😖😖
Then we will proceed with x-rays to see how much damage has been done to his face.
We will also need to start feeding him with a tube for now as it’s impossible for him to eat on his own.
Poor dog is traumatized and in an incredible amount of pain but despite that, he wants to live.
He is still not able to stand on his own, his body is weak.
We are hoping for the best and thanking everyone from the bottom of our hearts.”

According to the UAE laws, anyone found guilty of abusing, illegally hunting, buying or selling animals will face a 1-year prison term and a fine of AED200,000
