Vaping, an alternative to smoking, is illegal here in the UAE and anyone caught selling vaping paraphernalia could be hit with one big fine.

The smoking regulation team discovered two stores in Deira that specialize in tobacco, shisha and smoking equipment this week according to the Dubai Municipality.

“The smoking regulation team of the Environmental Emergency Office in the Public Health & Safety Department at #Dubai_Municipality came across large quantities of electronic shishas and flavored tobacco in two shops that sell tobacco and smoking accessories in Freij Al Murar area. The seized quantity was destroyed by the Waste Management Department.”

For first time offenders you get a warning, if it’s your second offence, the fine is AED 500,000

The contents of all seized goods have since been destroyed.

Vaping is illegal in the UAE. Anyone travelling with vaping materials will have the materials seized at the airport.
