A worrisome video with horrific graphics is doing rounds on WhatsApp once again and causing panic among family and friends residing abroad.
However, there’s no reason for alarm whatsoever as the video being circulated on social media groups is FALSE and outdated. A montage of four unrelated videos were strung together to make it appear as if a chaotic blast had taken place in Dubai. The series of incidents took place in Ajman, Cairo and Italy.
This video previously made the rounds last year, where n number of platforms gave breeding grounds to the video without fact-checking the date, origin or checking for official statements on the same.
The blast then caused a bridge in the area to partially collapse and engulfed a section of the motorway in flames.
Following that, the second video is from a crude oil pipeline blast that ruptured in July 2020, in a suburb of Cairo, Egypt.

The Cairo rail station blast that took place on February 27, 2019, left at least 20 dead and 50 injured.
Please refrain from forwarding misleading videos on WhatsApp in order to prevent the spread of unnecessary hysteria. It’s worth noting that penalities go up to AED1 million for spreading rumours in the UAE.
