Accusations Of The UAE Hacking Qatari News Sites Are Fake News According To Officials

Reports have surfaced in the United States that accuse the UAE of ‘orchestrating the hacking of Qatari government sites’, but the UAE’s embassy in the United States has emphatically denied the stories. 

Ambassador to the US, Yousef Al Otaiba made a statement which was shared to the embassy’s Twitter, in response to a report published on the Washington Post, stating the story is false, and the UAE had no involvement in the articles being posted. 

The UAE, along with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, severed diplomatic ties with Qatar in June 

Following from articles published on Qatari news sites that quoted the Emir of Qatar making remarks on Iran and terror groups, which Qatar subsequently stated were results of a hacking.  

The four states gave a list of 13 conditions to Qatar for the reparation of diplomatic relations however Qatar declined the list.
