Historic Jeddah is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it definitely has all the elements to become one of the most popular attractions in the country. The coral buildings, intricate doors and beautiful latticework on the rawasheen are some of its prominent features.

Saudi Arabia has already invested in the area’s restoration upon which the place got listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and now the country is just upping the ante as per the orders of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

According to the Arab News, 56 buildings of historic importance will be restored at a cost of SAR 50 million. And, this is just the first phase of the proposed restoration plan.

Some of the buildings that will get restored in Jeddah are over 500-years-old.

This isn’t the first time that the Crown Prince has ordered the restoration of historic buildings, old quarters of Yanbu and Madinah have been transformed completely with large scale restoration works.
