Those Breaking Quarantine Rules Can Face Prison And Deportation

People in Saudi Arabia that are breaching coronavirus quarantine rules have been warned they could face some pretty hefty charges for it.

Up to two years in prison and fines of SAR 200,000 will be charged for breaking out of quarantine

The announcement was made earlier this week after the number of COVID-19-related deaths passed the 7,000 mark.

The country’s Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution said the penalties would apply to those violating regulations whether they were infected with COVID-19, had come into contact with someone having the virus, or were suspected of being a carrier.

Expatriates violating the rules will be deported from the Kingdom and permanently banned from returning to the country

Penalties will be doubled for repeat rule-breakers.
