Saudi Arabia Has Denounced Israel’s Plans To Evict Palestinian Families From Their Homes In Jerusalem
Saudi Arabia has denounced Israeli plans to evict Palestinian families from their homes in Jerusalem amid soaring violence in the city.
The statement was made on Saturday
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the Kingdom “rejects Israel’s plans and measures to evict dozens of Palestinians from their homes in Jerusalem and impose Israeli sovereignty over them.”
The UAE “strongly condemned” the clashes and potential evictions, and a statement by Khalifa Al-Marar, the foreign affairs minister, urged Israeli authorities to reduce tensions.
Israel reinforced its security operation on Saturday after clashes on Friday night, when more than 200 Palestinians were injured at Jerusalem’s flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque, a UNESCO world heritage site, compound leaving more than 200 people injured.
