Canada’s First Cirque Du Soleil Performance In Riyadh For National Day Was A HIT Amongst Its Audience

Cirque du Soleil performed in Saudi for the very first time. The Canadian-based group came to the Kingdom to perform their world-renowned shows for the 88th National Day.

Many of those who went to see the spectacular show took to Twitter to express their fondness over the event. The production, according to Saudi Gazette, was especially designed for the occasion.

27,000 people watched the show at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh on Sunday

Reports say that this was one of the biggest Cirque du Soleil productions ever created. A tailor-made HUGE stage was designed with an array of special effects, firework and video projections.

The event was part of the General Entertainment Authority’s efforts to welcome innovative entertainments

“This is part of the Authority’s efforts to attract and welcome the largest and most innovative entertainment and leisure companies to the Kingdom and facilitate business for them. These efforts are in addition to supporting a growing local sector, creating healthy competition between national companies to enrich the local entertainment scene.” Abdulrahman Bin Nasser Al-Khalifa, General Manager of Communications and official spokesperson of the General Entertainment Authority.

Free-flying Hoverboard performances, a group of unicyclists were also intact, hip-hop dancers and even a German wheel. Amongst other things.

Residents who went to watch the show were ABSOLUTELY enthralled
