A 79-year-old Saudi man completed a 21-kilometre half-marathon at this year’s Riyadh marathon. Khalaf Al Balawi has inspired the Kingdom overnight for sticking through the marathon, proving age is just a number.

He was even awarded SAR 100,000 by the General Sports Authority’s Board Chairman
The chairman commended Al Balawi for his ‘exceptional bravery and commitment’ by sticking through the marathon until the end.
