We’ve all been there – the infuriating, relentless noise of construction sites near home.
It evokes all kinds of reactions as the days go by, from white hot rage when the workers decide to use a jackhammer at 8am on a Saturday, to the sweet relief and jubilation of a quiet day.
The beginning – mild irritation
It’s a bit annoying but hey, you can shut the window
Becoming disgruntled: On a Saturday morning at 8am, dude are you kidding?
Infuriation – will these people SHUT UP
I swear this guy is just banging two poles together for the sake of it!
You make a complaint
You never thought you’d be THAT guy, but you know what…it’s called for
The complaint goes unheeded
The point where smoke blows out your ears; which is, incidentally the only relief from the noise
Did it…did it stop?
You wake up and it’s quiet – eerily quiet. Have they gone? Is the work done? It’s amazing!
Nope just kidding, he must have come into work late
You admit defeat
It all becomes white noise and you can’t even hear anything anymore
And then, then either they finish the building or you move.
