A Saudi Man Has Been Arrested For Offering A 75 MILLION Riyal Bribe
A businessman charged has been arrested for offering a bribe, worth millions, to a civil servant.
The man was arrested for offering SAR 75 million as a bribe
He was arrested after his arrival at the Jeddah airport in western Saudi Arabia from abroad on a prosecution order. The alleged bribe was offered to the civil servant to illegally approve a real-estate deal worth 900 million riyals.
The prosecution has demanded the maximum penalty against him
This is because the businessman was found to have previously convicted in bribery and forgery cases as well.
This is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing and high-profile campaign against corruption.
Last week, a Saudi court sentenced 18 people to varying jail terms in different corruption cases.
