Expats In Saudi Arabia Can No Longer Hire Domestic Help Of Their Nationality

If you’re looking to hire domestic help any time soon, then know that there are some changes in the air.

According to a report in the Gulf News, the Musaned platform, which handles domestic labour services and operates under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), means expatriates living in Saudi Arabia won’t be able to hire domestic workers of their own nationality anymore. Musaned dropped the details in a reply to an inquiry.

But hey, don’t fret, because you can still bring in domestic workers from other countries.

Here’s what you need to have in your wallet to get a first-time recruitment visa: Your monthly salary should be at least SR10,000, and you need to show you’ve got some financial stability with a bank document that proves you’ve got at least SR100,000.

Now, if you’re going for a second round of visa issuance, the salary requirement doubles to SR20,000. You’ll also need to prove you’re financially capable by having a bank balance sheet with SR200,000 on it.
