A Dubai Resident Was Rushed To ER After A Morning Run In Dubai Heat
The entire country has made us all feel like we’re standing in a sauna. While saunas can in fact be therapeutic and relaxing, but when the weather outside is exactly the same as it is in saunas… we have a problem.
This type of heat could be unbearable for people, especially when they’re exercising. One resident could relate all too well.
Statham is the Head of PE at Dubai’s Hartland International School and he took to Twitter to inform everybody about the dangers of exercising in extreme heat.
Had a fainting episode on yesterday’s run, didn’t spot the 100% humidity coming! Fortunately, after a night on the drip and a full MOT I’m home and almost as good as new! Stay hydrated! The streak lives on! #run #running #dubai
He captioned the Twitter post.
Statham explained that he has to stay a night at the hospital and an IV drip to rehydrate his body. Of course while you exercise you’re bound to sweat lots but if you’re not properly hydrated, you could experience heat stroke and pass out. Luckily PE teacher Statham is alright!
Be SUPER careful if you prefer to take your exercise regimen outdoors!
