How do most of us generally spend our birthdays?
We party, we enjoy a nice meal, we travel to a new destination or perhaps treat ourselves to an indulgent birthday gift. But this Dubai resident has celebrated his 76th birthday in the most amazing way.
Businessman Mohan Valrani, executive vice chairman of the Al Shirawi Group and founder of The Arcadia Preparatory School, spent his day with children from the Rashid Centre for the Disabled.
It was not just a party with cake…
And this is the sixth year where the gentleman has donated an amount linked to his age to mark the occasion.
He planted a small tree in the centre’s garden while the children danced, sang and even painted cards for him.
He hopes others in the community will do the same. He has also said his sons will support the centre after this death. His commitment to the children who he considers ‘his own’ is definitely outstanding.
Such activities and initiatives help prepare children with disabilities integrate with the society.
